Growing up fast.

Today I took Rocket to go view the nursery he will be going to 2 afternoons a week from next month.

I was a bit nervous as so many things were running through my head (being a nervous first time mum!) like will they be able to keep up with him? Would he be able to get out? What If he doesn’t fit in with the children? So many thoughts!

We sat down in the room that contained the 2-3 year olds and there were quite a few children playing happily and so much for them to be getting on with. I filled out the papers telling them what Rocket liked/disliked and they explained what goes on and the structure of the days there etc.

Someone told me that I would know as soon as I walked in if it was right for us, and I believe it is, the children were calm, there were paintings over the walls, the staff were friendly and attentive and Rocket loved the music time and jumped around the room with a big grin on his face!

He has to go back for another visit, a week before he’s due to start and that time I am to sneak out and leave him there for a few hours so he can get used to the Staff and the other children.

Before today I was torn with my feelings over leaving him there and now I feel confident that i am doing the best for him (and me!). He will get stimulation from a different environment and he will start learning important life skills and I will get some me time and be able to refresh so I can be the best mummy I can.

All in all it was a positive experience and I’m looking forward to next month. My monkey is growing up!
