Royal Mail – WINNIE THE POOH

Yesterday I was invited to an event taking place at London Zoo to celebrate the release of the new Royal Mail Winnie the Pooh stamps. Unfortunatly I was unable to go but I was kindly sent the stamps so I could learn more about them.

Winnie the Pooh is the creation of A.A. Milne and was actually inspired by Milnes own child Christopher Robin who was born in 1920. For Christophers first birthday he was bought a teddy bear that went on to inspire Milne to write about Winnie the Pooh and The house at Pooh Corner.

Winnie the Pooh is a huge success and a well loved story amongst many children and adults alike.

The real Christopher Robin passed away in 1996 , 40 years after his father.

Royal Mail has released a set of stamps featuring the classic drawings of “the best bear in all the world” . They were issued on the 12th October 2010.
